PostSubject: Escort Through the Woods [Reinhard]   Wed Jun 28, 2017 5:13 am

While she had never been to the woods before herself, she had heard of the place before. The copious amounts of greenery, the rumors, and the wildlife were all but expected of a forest upon this island. However, Amira had never been too keen to actually visit a place like this, simply due to the dangers it posed. It would not have been wise to enter this forest alone or unless there was some business that had to be taken care of. A young man had contacted the Academy earlier in an effort to get a doctor to save his diseased father, but unfortunately needed an antidote which only grew in the woods. While she would have wished for another group to attend this duty due to the hour, it wasn't as if she had a say. Fortunately, she had a companion along with the doctor, her freshman trainee, Reinhard who was also requested to come.

Looking at the opening of the forest each instinct had told her not to enter. While she did not feel intimidated by the looks, she was worried about their safety. There had been rumors that a portal rested here, allowing beings from another dimension to appear. "Are you sure this is safe?" Amira asked quietly.

The doctor shook his head in response, "It's not like we have a choice. The father's life is at stake if we fail there may be a chance he will die." She nodded her head in agreement. "Are you ready Reinhard?" She said, asking the young freshman as she began to enter the forest. It had held a definite spooky ambiance, almost one out of a scary movie, however, she held courage. If something were to attack them, they would be able to act in self-defense. After all, they attended a school for fighters.

The day was Tuesday it was late at night and the school had received a very strange call. The call was from a boy who had a very sick father, he needed an antidote or else he would die. A team was then selected to make a trip through the woods and to the family's cabin so that the father could be given the antidote. This team consisted of Reinhard, his trainer Amira, and a doctor of course as he was the one to administer the antidote. The real reason why the two fighters were coming was due to the rumors and tales of old. Tales of beings from another realm known as the void.

The trio walked through the woods with Reinhard carrying his two swords on his back and wearing his armor underneath his pitch black trench coat. Ami would pose the question to the group "Are you sure this is safe?" Reinhard could do nothing but shake his head. The doctor would seemingly answer the question and Reinhard would simply state "I agree, it cannot be helped."

As they began to enter the forest Ami asked Reinhard if he was ready. This question could be taken a number of ways, but Reinhard saw it as he was the sole offensive fighter in this scenario. Regardless of what it truly meant Reinhard would look at Ami and flash her a smile as he said "Oh course im ready, as long as I have you by my side I shall never fail!" The group would then enter the forest and begin what would without a doubt be a long, long night.

The walk through the woods was relatively quiet except for the audible chirping of crickets surrounding the night air. Amira was rather relieved when it had appeared the rumors were proven to be false. There had been no sighting of any being that would cause them any trouble, although her guard was still high up in the rare case the rumors were proven to be true. She kept silent, leaving the only noise to be the wildlife around them, the sound of their footsteps and any conversation that would be between Reinhard and the doctor if they chose to talk. An audible rustling sound came to the right of the group. Immediately it caused her to stop in her tracks, "Was that just me or did you hear a sound coming from that direction." She said quietly pointing a finger to the direction she had heard the noise. Taking a few steps back her eyes began to scan the area. The doctor had appeared to do the same, he was in no condition to do any fighting so it was up to the two students to fight or Reinhard to as he was the only offensive fighter in their small group.

"You aren't the only one..." He spoke quietly. The rustling grew louder until a shadow appeared from the greenery which had hidden from the sight. Without a single hesitation, she immediately called upon her own chi, giving Reinhard a boost of strength. However something peculiar happened, rather than one of those creatures popping out, there were two. Both appeared to be working together, almost as if they were trying to overpower the enemy with numbers rather than their own strength. "I guess we have to do this the hard way." She commented. Amira looked at Reinhard before barking out the strategy, "Focus on attacking one enemy, don't neglect the other. Keep your defense up at all costs. If they prove too much I'll see if I can draw out the attention of one of them." For now, she would only support her underclassman, but if he proved to be in serious trouble she was also prepared to help him out.

The walk through the forest was a very silent one in the beginning, so maybe the rumors were false. Thats all that could be the case, however if if they weren't true Reinhard had kept his guard all the way up because being in such a creepy environment so late at night was very scary, even for someone as tough as him. The night air grew thick and the sounds of nothing but nature surrounded them. Reinhard decided not to talk to Ami or the doctor as he was too busy watching his surroundings. When Ami and the doctor had heard the creature rustling in the bushes Reinhard was already on top of the situation as he had slipped away from the group before the creatures came from out of the shadows and into the light.

Reinhard made his way up into a nearby tree as he waited for the creatures to come out so that he could launch a very powerful and surprising sneak attack. As they both stepped from out of the shadows Reinhard sprang into action as he would draw both his swords and jump down with a roar which would activate his strength buffing technique. The two weird looking creatures were like nothing Reinhard had ever seen before and even though he was slightly afraid he knew he couldn't fall from the fear because he had people to protect in Ami and the doctor. And without him getting the doctor to the cabin the father would die, and that was something he was gonna let happen.

As he came crashing down from the sky both blades in hand Reinhard would throw his black sword at one of the creatures, thus pinning it to the ground where it stood. Reinhard would then touch the ground and set his focus on the enemy not pinned to the ground as he would release a volley of sword strike against it, at the end the being seemingly turned to dust which signified its "death". Reinhard then turned to handle the one that was pinned to the ground. Swiftly removing his sword from the ground and the creature he would then stab it a few more times and it would turn to dust.

The doctor seemed to have been shaken up a bit as he would say "Dear God, Semintar, Ionnus, Enriku, Tritara, Tellus, Pelera... save us." Reinhard was worried about what was wrong with the doctor and why he was shouting out the names of the behemoths. "Are you ok doc?" Reinhard would ask as the group would hear more rustling come from the bushes in the opposite direction. The doctor began to speak in a panicked tone "Do you have any idea what those things were? Those were ethereals! I Know I shouldn't have come out here so late at night! Now we are all gonna die, and the boy's father will die too because we are gonna die trying to get to the cabin..." However before the doctor could rant on any further Reinhard would slap him and state clearly "Get yourself together I know you arent a fighter but im here, and Amira has my back ain't that right?"

Ethereals? The word rolled up and down her tongue, as her brain analyzed the term. Yes... she remembered during those days when she was learning about the fighters' history they mentioned something known as void and ethereal. These were the beings that were rumored to come from another dimension and from the looks of the one which had just attacked them, they did not appear to be very friendly. "Right." She said, agreeing to Reinhard's statement. "If push comes to shove, I have a few tricks up my sleeve as well. I might not be a competent fighter myself, but I do know self-defense and I will not be afraid to use it." She said with a cheery voice, in an attempt to keep their spirits up. "Now let's go, we don't know what else may be lying in the shadows. I'll keep my strength technique up in case you need another boost if we are to meet another one of these 'Ethereals'" Without another word she began to walk at a slightly faster pace, looking around. Her guard was up now, and her mind wary of her surroundings.

These beings... They couldn't be the only ones here. While these two had seemed rather weak compared to Reinhard's strength, there was a strange feeling that she could not shake off that there were others. The next few moments they took were rather quiet as nothing had decided to pay them a visit. However, that was the thought which was within her head. Instead, another ethereal had appeared, or what she thought was one. It was a good distance away from them and were carrying what appeared to be a sniper rifle? However, she knew it was bad. Noticing the strange angle the being was trying to position rifle she immediately began to act, tackling the doctor to the ground as the bullet it fired narrowly flew over their heads. If she were to act a second too soon, the doctor would have been killed and Amira, seriously injured. "It's up to you now! Attack it close range, Reinhard." She had faith in him that he would end this being that was known as an ethereal, but for now keeping the doctor alive was a priority. If he were to die, so would the father that was in the call. She tried to ignore the doctor as he began to whimper strange names although it was highly unlikely any deity he was praying to at this moment would listen to him. They were on their own now.

The group would continue on ahead and as they did so they came across yet another ethereal. THis time was different however because this time the ethereal looked almost human in appearance something that threw Reinhard off greatly. "How in the hell...?" Reinhard thought to himself as the ethereal would take a shot at the doctor, luckily Ami was there and reacted fast enough to save him. Reinhard would then be instructed to go fight him in close quarters for the win, however as Reinhard tried to push forward he was stopped by a barrage of bullets that he somehow managed to block with his sword and dodge with a very swift barrel roll. "Good thing Ami uses quality material when she crafts, im surprised this blue sword can hold up to sniper rifle fire like that." Reinhard would then gather energy in the tip of his sword and then swing it in a downwards arc thus releasing the energy as he would watch it travel on and strike the sniper ethereal. "Ok guys he is all dealt with now lets go to the cabin." The trio would then make it to the cabin where the doctor would administer the antidote to the man.

After the sniper ethereal had been dealt with, the tension that was present vanished. The doctor if he was put off before, was not greatly unnerved. He was continually paranoid with the ever single noise he heard. She would not blame him, Amira felt slightly nervous about the forest now that she learned the rumors weren't false. She tried to amp each of her sense to the highest performance it could go so they would not be given another surprise ambush. However, a saving grace occurred which allowed them to finally arrive at the cabin. Relief was the only emotion she could feel as she arrived. The doctor entered the cabin and administered the antidote to the infected father which had saved his life.

The family had thanked them, but the son apologized, saying how he did not have time to mention about the creatures that lurked at night. They family had beseeched them to stay until morning, the time when the ethereal was no longer active within the forest. While the doctor had agreed to this request without a second thought, it took Amira a few moments before she simply decided to head back to the school. "I think we'll be fine. Just stay safe you all." She said with a nod before she heads to the door. "However, I understand it's dangerous for me to go alone so if Reinhard stays so shall I." Regardless of their decision to stay for the rest of the night or not, in the morning, they would be back upon school campus relatively unharmed from their night adventure in the Focus Island's Forest.
